Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also come with plenty of questions. Antenatal Shared Care allows eligible women to have much of their routine pregnancy care with a GP they know, while sharing care with their chosen maternity hospital.
At Bronte Family Doctors, Dr May Tan, Dr Sarah Brewster and Dr Felicity Minogue offer Antenatal Shared Care, providing continuity throughout pregnancy and into the postnatal period.
30-45 MINUTE APPOINTMENT
Your GP can help coordinate your pregnancy care, including:
You’ll still attend your maternity hospital for key appointments, with your GP and hospital team working together throughout your pregnancy.
Antenatal care can begin even before you become pregnant. A preconception appointment is a good opportunity to review medications, vaccinations, supplements, medical conditions and any factors that may affect your pregnancy.
After your baby arrives, we’re here for both you and your baby, including postnatal checks, breastfeeding support, contraception, mental health care, newborn care and childhood vaccinations.
One of the benefits of shared care is being able to see a GP who gets to know you and your family, with convenient appointments close to home.
If you’re pregnant or planning a pregnancy, book an appointment to discuss your pregnancy care options.
